HOLD THE OPPOSITES
Dualistic thinking is simplistic and is often driven by fear. It cannot contain or express the complexity of life. If your tendency is to think of issues as either black or white, your life will be more stressful and difficult, because the real world is a continuum of greys rather than one of stark contrasts. For example, you may be in conflict with your partner because you think he or she is wrong and you are right. If you want to feel more comfortable on a day-to-day basis, this meditation will help you soften and learn to see that life’s answers are much more ambiguous than “yes” or “no”.
